Project: Structural Rehabilitation of Slab of the Yaz Restaurant

Scope of Works:
• Strengthening the slab around the opening in order to compensate for the loss of reinforcement.

Project Description:
A store situated in Calwer Street was refurbished in order to create a restaurant. The new owner wanted to install a service lift and for this purpose an opening of 1,00m X 1,00m was created to accommodate the lift.
Due to this the slab had to be strengthened around the opening in order to compensate for the loss of reinforcement.
Fibrwrap Construction Deutschland was assigned the project to apply Carbon FRP at all sides of the opening at the top and the bottom of the slab. Overall 5 layers of FRP were applied with the dry application method according to the design.
The full scope of works (preparation, restoration of cross section, FRP application) was completed in three days.
