Scope of Works:
• Strengthening and Repair of Masonry arches with Carbon FRP.

Project Description:
A complex of ten masonry warehouses in the town of Grosseto was refurbished and it became apparent that the internal arches at every warehouse had an identical crack pattern, consisting of cracks passing through the keys or situated at their vicinity.
Fibrwrap provided a design – build solution which entailed the strengthening of the underside of the arch with SCH Carbon Tyfo^® FIBRWRAP^® System with Tyfo S epoxy and also the application of Tyfo Fibrwrap Carbon Anchors.
The use of composite material has allowed fast completion of the works and the possibility to the client to prohibit the access to the warehouses only for the time needed for the reinforcement application. Moreover, thanks to the small dimensions and the light weight of the fiber composite materials, the original profile of the arches was not modified, nor the structural mass was increased.
