Scope of Works:
• Strengthening of masonry columns and arches with carbon fiber bars / Repair of evidenced cracks on masonry columns, arches and vaults

Project Description:
The “Stalloni” Gallery (loggia), constituted by a series of arches and vaults supported by columns of masonry is part of the San Rossore Estate. Several cracks along the columns ant he arches of the building were evident and in need of repair.
Fibrwrap provided a design build solution which entailed the realization of grooves along every cracked column, in which have been inserted bars of carbon fibers, with the use of lime mortar of high resistance. The same procedure has been also used to at the cracks of the arches keys, replacing though the lime mortar with an epoxy resin of high viscosity, so as to successfully inject at the overhead locations. Finally, the cracks present on the vaults, arches and columns have been repaired with lime mortar.
The dust extracted during the grooves execution has been collected and mixed with lime mortar and has been applied on the interventions location in order to “disguise” them in the best way.
