• Installing 2 layers of the Tyfo^® SCH System jacket to the required columns providing the adequate transverse reinforcement.

Project Description:
he City Center in Las Vegas is a 16,797,000 sq. ft. mix-used complex currently under construction on the Las Vegas Strip that is set to include multiple high-rise buildings featuring condominiums, hotels, and casinos.
Upon structural inspection of the project, the engineer-of-record identified a construction technique that may have compromised the installed transverse reinforcement on over 300 columns occurring in two of the structures. Conventional methods of repair were not ideal as construction delays can cost the owners millions in lost revenue as well as jeopardize the architectural look that was originally designed.
The project turned to the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Jacket System as the solution. Fibrwrap® Construction acted quickly and installed 2 layers of the Tyfo® SCH System jacket to the required columns providing the adequate transverse reinforcement. Along with the expediency of the repair that allowed current construction to resume, the jacket only increased the total diameter of the columns by 1/4" and the overall square footage of the space was not significantly reduced.
