Project: Structural Repair and strengthening of Masonry building

• Masonry wrapping at the flooring system level with a double layer of Tyfo^® SCH-41
• Tyfo^® S Epoxy

Project Description:
A masonry building situated at the city of Recco, built in the early 1900’s has suffered damages through the years due to earthquakes and from side effects from bombings during WW2. Specifically a pattern of cracks is present on the entire masonry structure. After the recent earthquake activity in Emilia Romagna region it was decided from the owner that actions for repair, restoration and seismic strengthening should be taken.
Fibrwrap Italy proposed and executed a solution using Tyfo^® Carbon Systems (Tyfo^® SCH-41 and Tyfo^® S Epoxy) in two layers by confinement of the whole structure at each floor level at the free space zone between windows and balconies. The original plaster was removed on the application area and special high strength repair mortar was applied as substrate for the Tyfo Carbon Fiber.
The whole project was completed well within schedule and budget.
