• Strengthening and Repair of existing masonry building / Flexural strengthening of masonry vaults with fiber composite fabrics

Project Description:
A residential building constructed in the beginning of 19th century was used as an Olive Oil press factory. After a long service life it was abandoned and only recently it was decided to refurbish it and change its use to a residential building once again.
The building has suffered due to alterations for installation of machinery, excessive loading and poor maintenance.
Fibrwrap performed works on repairing and strengthening of the vaults in order to restore the bearing capacity of the slabs and create future walkways. The technical solution entailed the application of Tyfo^® FIBRWRAP® Systems, specifically SCH carbon fibers according to the specifications of the design and also Tyfo Fibrwrap Glass Anchors inserted into the bearing masonry walls.
