Concrete repair of Richmond Olympic Oval, British Columbia, Canada

Project: Structural repair of concrete elements at Richmond Olympic Oval Venue
Location: British Columbia, Canada
Client: City of Richmond

Scope of Works:
• Structural repair of concrete elements at Richmond Olympic Oval Venue using Tyfo SCH-41-2X®

Project Description:
When forming for structural concrete and reinforcement, an error reading the door schedule was made by the contractor. To rectify the situation, the contractor saw cut vertically above the door opening to fit the true door size.  As a result, horizontal steel was cut.
Fibrwrap Installations Limited installed the Fyfe Company Tyfo SCH-41-2X® along with an intricate patented anchorage detail to supplement the required tensile force set forth by consulting engineers Glotman Simpson.
Implementing new aged technology, the owner was provided an alternative to conventional construction which resulted in vast time savings and reduced remedial costs.
Fibrwrap Installations Ltd. completed the Olympic Oval project in a cost-effective manner ahead of schedule with the use of superior Fiber Reinforced Polymers currently available in the market.
